These long tube headers feature a “step” design wherein progressively larger piping is used at certain sections of the header, with the intention of allowing exhaust gases to leave your coyote engine faster, resulting in greatly diminished back-pressure and an increase in overall performance numbers. These headers benefit naturally aspirated engines, but can also be used with some of aftermarket engine mods.

Heavy-Duty Build Quality. The Pypes 1-7/8-inch Long Tube Headers are crafted from heavy-duty stainless steel for strength and resistance to corrosion. The pipes are completely mandrel-bent for added rigidity less turbulence. The headers’ specialized “step” design starts out with a 1-3/4-inch diameter pipe, into a larger 1-7/8-inches, and finally ending with a 3-inch wide collector with all the joins being TIG-welded for strength.

ECU Re-Tuning Required. While installing the Pypes 1-7/8-inch Long Tube Catted Headers will produce performance gains, it is required that an ECU re-tune be performed on your Mustang. This is to ensure that your engine and the new header system are truly in sync with the optimal performance gains.

Installation. The wiring harness needs to be disconnected from the back of the block. That should give you enough length for a proper installation.
